Lima, 30, who was recently spotted at the IWC Schaffhausen Top Gun Gala at the Palexpo Exhibition Hall in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday says meeting the Dali Lami is on her to do list for 2012.

Lima told the Telegraph, about her twice-daily workouts and a nutritionist-prescribed diet.

Lima told the paper that for nine days before the show, she lives on only protein shakes, "no solids," and drinks a gallon of water a day.

Two days before the catwalk production, she cuts back on the gallon of water and drinks "normally."

Then, 12 hours before the show, she won't drink anything at all.

"No liquids at all so you dry out," Lima told the paper. "Sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that."

You can lose a lot more than just weight, according to the Mayo Clinic. Dehydration can lead to swelling of the brain, seizures, low blood volume shock, kidney failure, coma, or death.

While Lima was crash dieting, fellow model Alessandra Ambrossio was preggers but kept mum until last month.

She first revealed the good news to Brazilian magazine Istoe Gente.

Ambrosio and her fiancée, businessman Jamie Mazur, are already parents to three-year-old daughter Anja.

The Victoria’s Secret model broke the news to Mazur on his birthday in September, but decided not to go public due to the fashion show looming ahead.

Adriana Lima wants to "meet the Dalai Lama" in 2012.

The Victoria's Secret model has revealed her New Year's resolutions.

As well as wanting to learn how to play the piano and do more boxing, the star also has some more unusual wishes.

"I wanna meet the Dalai Lama," she laughed in a video shot for Victoria's Secret . "And believe it or not I need to get my driver's license."

The Brazilian model also wants to try and tone down her exotic accent. She would love her English fans to be able to understand her better."I will try to get some speech classes and get rid of my accent," she said.

The brunette beauty also revealed she will be wearing white panties when the New Year begins. She is hoping they will make 2012 a year of peace.

However, Adriana is just like the rest of us when it comes to keeping her promises.

She confessed she has never managed to actually follow through with any of her pledges in the past.

"How good am I at keeping my New Year's resolutions? I never do any of them! Ever!" she giggled.

Adriana Lima looks smolderingly gorgeous in her new set of ads for Donna Karan's spring 2012 line.

Karan's collection was informed by her charity work: she hatched the idea for the ads after spending copious amounts on time in Haiti after the island was tragically struck by an earthquake last year .

Russell James photographed Lima in the Southern Haiti town of Jacmel, who posed in black-and-white dresses and other pieces inspired by local artist Philippe Dodard from Karan's new collection. In one of the ads, Lima stares down the camera with her trademark glare as some Haitian kids pose, huddled together, in the background.

And that's where the controversy starts.As Global Grind notes, there's a note on the right of the ad explaining that the kids are local Haitians, which helps ameliorate the initial appearance that the kids are merely being used as "props."

But still, with Lima (who's Brazilian and has a lighter skin tone) posing in front of the darker-skinned children, some people are suggesting that the Karan ad has racist undertones.

One commenter, identified only as "Anonymous," writes on Fashion Gone Rogue: "Am I the only one getting racist/imperialistic vibes from the second image? I know the inspiration is Haiti but it's unsettling imo." Another, labeled Kid, writes: "While Adriana looks fierce and mybe a bit too fierce the other people in the picture looks sort of scared. I get from the picture a not so sweet relationships between the white girl and the black people."

And the ads bring up a familiar thorny issue: the ethnic diversity of Brazil and how it's reflected (or not reflected) on the catwalk. This year, protestors at Sao Paulo Fashion Week demanded that 20 percent of the runway models be of indigenous and black descent, in order to represent Brazil's diverse ethnic makeup. (Leggy blondes like Gisele are the minority in such a melting pot of a country.)

"Brazil has more people of African descent than any country outside of Africa, half the population is said to be either black or mixed race," notes the BBC, citing designers and citizens alike who are campaigning for Brazil to up its quota of racially diverse models.

While we're sure the photos in these ads weren't intended to convey anything insidious, the arrangement of the first shot does seem a little misguided.

And it looks like Adriana made some friends at the event, as she posed for pictures with Clifton Bieundurry, Russell James, and Nathan Mundraby.

But now the 30-year-old brunette has dismissed the gruelling regime - which raised eyebrows far and wide for condoning extreme dieting - as nothing more than a 'misunderstanding.'

Speaking with E! Canada, the Brazilian model urged impressionable teenage girls to ignore her stringent preparations.

'Those teenagers out there, don't go starving yourself or only drinking liquids... Don't do that please.'

Not Every Woman Should Try Looking Like A Victoria’s Secret Model

Adriana Lima made waves last week by candidly describing her pre-Victoria’s Secret fashion show diet: A regimen consisting of protein shakes (that include powdered egg) and a daily gallons of water (with some last-minute dehydration to help her look toned on the runway). But she quickly covered her tracks, insisting that young women shouldn’t follow her example or adopt extreme diets for weight loss.Last Thursday, she told Canada’s ET:

Those teenagers out there, don’t go starving yourself or only drinking liquids. Don’t do that please. I know it’s very intense but … I just have an athlete’s mind and I appreciate doing this thing. It’s not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again.

We’ve already balked at her comparison of runway prep to athletic training (instead of focusing on athletic performance, she’s putting all of her efforts towards a personal best in being slim and toned, which happens to piss off certain marathoners among our writing staff). But her follow-up comment is especially misguided: By attributing her ability to live on liquid protein to an “athlete’s mind,” she makes flash dieting seem like an elite, prestigious activity.

But even Lima’s attempt to reassure fans that her diet is only happens once a year is off-key: Lowering calorie count and dehydrating yourself to look slim is dangerous, regardless of how rarely you do it. And the long-lasting effects of occasionally putting your body in starvation mode aren’t great for your “normal” weight, either: It can permanently screw up your metabolism, causing your b0dy to desperately store calories as fat once you finally do start eating normally again.

We’d like teens (and all women) to know: Extreme dieting isn’t like the Olympics. It doesn’t make you more athletic, elite, or prestigious. And, chances are, it won’t even make you look like a Victoria’s Secret model: These are women who’ve hit the genetic jackpot AND spend ample time maintaining their looks year-round (whatever Lima’s referring to as “normal” when she’s not on her extreme diets doesn’t necessarily look like your “normal,” and it doesn’t have to).

If you, too, have an athlete’s mind, and want to go to extremes to set some personal records, pick a more worthy and realistic goal than looking like Adriana Lima. Try lifting heavier weights (check out Dana McMahan for inspiration); let Hailey Eber inspire you to complete your first marathon. And if weight loss is on your list of priorities, as it is for many of us at one time or another, then do it in a sustainable, balanced way. But, as Lima says, don’t go starving yourself or only drinking liquids. Even if you do have an athlete’s mind or resolve to just do it once a year.

Adriana Lima wasn’t too pleased to hear that reports of the extreme diet Victoria’s Secret Angels must adopt in order to prep for the annual fashion show were swirling around the media.

The Telegraph wrote in an article that Lima testified to being on a pre-show nine-day liquid diet consisting of protein shakes and egg powder, after which she was banned from drinking water for 12 hours leading up to the show. They also reported that Lima worked out twice a day for the three weeks before.

However, Adriana is insisting that the details of the “crazy diet” are just a “misunderstanding.” She spoke with E! Canada to set the record straight. She even showed E! Canada her piece of coffee cake prior to the show, saying, “I have my Starbucks coffee right there… it was a misunderstanding.”

Like anyone whose body is her source of income — or who poses in her skivvies for all to see — the model says she’s conscious of her figure. She admits, “You can’t eat everything, of course… I eat healthy and work out a lot.”

The 29-year-old said gaining pregnancy pounds was an uncomfortable experience, and the stress involved with getting back her pre-baby body after giving birth to daughter Valentina in 2009 was even worse.

“I was really worried, I did gain a lot of weight – let’s say more than 25 pounds,” Lima told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column while showing off the 2011 Victoria’s Secret’s SWIM Collection alongside fellow “Bombshells” Alessandra Ambrosio and Candace Swanepoel in Los Angeles last week. “I ate whatever I wanted – my daughter was my first priority. I tried to keep her healthy, eat healthily, and exercise but not too much. I did light walks and things like that."

Lima said it took her a year to get back hre bikini body,and has tips on how new moms can slim back down.

“My first advice is not to eat sugar and oil – that will help a lot,” she advised. “But if you get stressed about it, it is not good for you and you won’t lose weight. Even if you are working out and you’re on a diet, you are not going to lose weight.”

The Brazilian-born beauty said that despite her best efforts she simply couldn’t shift the pounds,

and it was only when she started to relax and get some shut-eye that the scale started to budge.

“[It is so important] not to stress. I had a problem in the beginning because at one point I was so stressed,” she continued. “I wasn’t getting a proper night of sleep, so I wasn’t losing weight.”

Nonetheless, entering the realm of model mommyhood definitely does have an aesthetic upside too – as proven by Lima’s very evident extra glow.

“What can I say? It’s the hormones,” she laughed. “I’m so blessed to give birth, really blessed and lucky.”

But it’s not just about eating healthy. You have to put in some time at the gym too! “I also do some Yoga as well and doing some squats,” added Miranda.

Fellow Angel Adriana Lima is also a new mom that slimmed down after giving birth, but it didn’t come easy!

“It took me basically ten months really to get back or kind of close to the shape I was before pregnancy,” Adriana confessed to Hollyscoop. “I try to eat healthy and workout. Jump rope- walk as much as I could.”

It’s safe to say that, even today, nice girls don’t dream of hanging out in a pool hall while wearing only a bra. Contemporary lingerie ads usually look a lot more like the one at the very bottom of this page—fleshy, of course, if not exactly surprising.

But in 1963, when the ad below (scroll down to see it) ran in the pages of Life magazine, nice girls were indeed surprised—specifically, by a rather immodest scenario (one of many) from the creative mind of Kitty D’Alessio, working as a Manhattan copywriter decades before she’d become president of Chanel. It was called the "I
Dreamed" campaign, and it was so successful that Maidenform would run it for 20 years. Each ad featured a woman confessing she’d dreamt of wearing her Maidenform bra while doing something manly or socially assertive—going on safari, winning an election or, in this case, shooting a little nine-ball. By comparison, even the come-hither stare of the Victoria’s Secret model opposite barely warrants a PG rating.

Still, Maidenform’s approach does beg an obvious question: What on earth did a bra have to do with playing pool? Nothing, really. "It was a silly concept—silly and mildly scandalous," said veteran adman Bob Hoffman, CEO of Hoffman | Lewis. "The silliness was forgiven by the 'dream' contrivance. The scandalousness was a little more subtle. It wasn’t the first time America saw a model in a bra—but it may have been the first time we saw a model in a bra in a social situation. What made the campaign so powerful was exactly this juxtaposition of incongruities."

Regrettably, the passing of 48 years has rendered the once powerful into the comical (was this woman’s hairdo shaped like her bra on purpose?) But one thing’s beyond dispute: The "I Dreamed" campaign was meant to turn heads—and that, it still does.

T-shirt problem: Seams and/or lumps
Solution: Smooth seamless bra

Why: For a smooth fit, never wear a lacy bra. If your shirt is tight, you may show spillover bumps from the top of your bra so make sure you wear the right size bra. Also, if you're wearing white or a light color, wear a nude-colored bra that closely matches your skin to keep it hidden. Even white bras can show through a white blouse.

Tank top problem: Sloppy straps
Solution: Racerback

Why: Consider racer back or cross back bras to wear. You can rest assured that your bra straps won't slip into view.

Halter problem: Back straps
Solution: Multi-way

Why: The multi-way bra goes around neck, so strap hooks at front so you have support, but no straps showing.

Strapless problem: Sagging
Solution: Molded strapless bra

Why: Strapless bras tend to head south. By the end of the day you don't want it around your midsection. A racerback will be strong enough to hold the bra in place without flattening the bust.

Additional notes: Every woman should own a strapless bra. With off-the-shoulder dresses and tops, they are an absolute must. Support is the most important factor. You want to make sure the strapless bra holds you in completely, lifts your breasts, stays in place and does not leave indentations in your skin. It should also be comfortable and wear well throughout an entire day or for evening out. Smaller chests can get away with a stretch tube bra, while larger chests may still need the support of a more constructed bra that hooks in the back.

With Paris Fashion Week just winding down, we thought it prudent to take a look back at some of our favorite model homes. No, not the developer one-offs; rather, the homes of supermodels, aka the globe's sexiest residents. Well, it turns out the same people that strut before cameras for a living don't tend to bring the shutterbugs to their places of residence. Camera shy as they might seen at home, we still managed to find some model homes worth a damn. Now, off to the residential runway!
Brazilian hottie Adriana Lima and her NBA star husband, Marko Jaric, plunked down $9M to pick up this 7,500-square-foot 1958 estate in Miami Beach. A big check to write, for sure, but quite a discount from the original asking price of $12.9M. It's hard to sell anything for over $10M when the kitchen looks this sad. At least there's still the 200 feet of waterfront and 1.83 acres on private Indian Creek Island to keep 'em happy during the inevitable reno.

On "The Early Show" Tuesday morning, new mom and co-anchor Erica Hill said, "Was it hard to get back out there in lingerie? You look great, but for any woman it's tough. No matter how good you look, you feel different."

Lima replied, "Actually, I feel more confident, even more beautiful, more sexy after I gave birth to my daughter."

However, Lima said, she was worried about getting back on the catwalk after gaining 50 pounds during her pregnancy.

"That's all (the weight) I tell," she said. "That's all I can say. ... I was very nervous about it. I say, 'Am I going to be able to, you know, lose the weight? I don't know how my body's going to react.' How fast I was going to lose the weight. It wasn't an easy road. But, you know, I'm persistent. So it wasn't easy to find, you know, an extra 30 minutes between Valentina's naps to just run to the gym and you know, do my jumping rope and my boxing."

"Early Show" co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez said, "Erica (Hill) has an 8-month-old. I have a 5-month-old. So we know exactly how you feel. On top of everything else here you have to go back to work and worry about is your child going to sleep through the night? Are you going to be able to juggle motherhood and your job. Did you feel that?"

Lima said, "I was afraid, because, you know, I wanted to be -- I want to be a good mother. You know, I wanted to give the best for Valentina. And she's, of course, my priority. So, yes, I was worried about, you know, giving as much time as I could possibly do for her. I felt guilty even to leave her asleep in her room. I cannot do that. I was, 'OK, baby you go to your room now,' and then after 10 minutes I would go back to her room, pick her up. I'm like, you know what? After she's going to grow up, she's going to be 15 and she's going to live alone for 40 years of her life. So what? Let me enjoy my moments with her."

Lima added pregnancy made her "feel complete somehow."

She said, "I think that hormonal changes during pregnancy, I think a woman needs that for her body, for her skin. I feel more beautiful."

Lima is famously known for wearing a $2 million fantasy bra, designed by Italian designed Damiani, in the Victoria's Secret show. The bra features more than 3,000 white diamonds, light blue sapphires and oval-shaped topazes.
Lima said wearing the bra was "amazing."

She said, "It was honor."
